Day 1: Arrive in Srinagar – Welcome to Paradise
As you land in Srinagar, the crisp mountain air and stunning views instantly lift your mood. You’ll be received and transferred to your hotel or houseboat — yes, staying in a houseboat on Dal Lake is truly something else.
Later in the day, go for a peaceful Shikara ride. The sound of the water, the sight of floating gardens, and the backdrop of snow-covered hills — it all feels surreal.
By evening, visit the beautiful Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. These gardens, built by Mughal emperors, are full of flowers, fountains, and old-world charm.
Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 2: Srinagar to Pahalgam – Valley of Shepherds
After breakfast, head towards Pahalgam, about a 3-hour drive. On the way, you’ll pass through saffron fields at Pampore and the ancient Awantipora temples — great spot to stretch your legs and click some pictures.
Pahalgam is all about lush greenery, riverside views, and peace. You can take a pony ride to Baisaran (Mini Switzerland) or explore Aru Valley and Betaab Valley (named after the Bollywood movie Betaab that was shot there).
The sound of the Lidder River, the towering pine trees, and the fresh mountain breeze will stay with you long after the trip ends.
Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
Day 3: Back to Srinagar – Old City, Food & Local Life
Today, after breakfast, drive back to Srinagar. This day is more about the cultural side of Kashmir.
Start with a visit to Hazratbal Shrine, located beside the Dal Lake. Then explore the Old City — especially Jamia Masjid, with its 370 wooden pillars and calm vibes. Don’t miss the narrow lanes around it; they’re full of hidden charm.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and try dishes like Rogan Josh, Yakhni, and Kashmiri Dum Aloo — all served with warm-hearted hospitality.
In the evening, shop at Lal Chowk or the local handicraft market. You’ll find everything from Pashmina shawls and Kashmiri carpets to dry fruits and walnut wood artefacts.
Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 4: A Day Trip to Doodhpathri – Nature at Its Best
After breakfast, set out for Doodhpathri, a quiet and stunning place just 1.5–2 hours away from Srinagar.
The name Doodhpathri means “Valley of Milk,” thanks to the milky colour of the stream that flows through this meadow. You can enjoy horse riding, picnic by the river, or simply lie down on the grass and listen to the wind.
Unlike the crowded tourist spots, Doodhpathri is peaceful, untouched, and absolutely refreshing.
In the evening, return to Srinagar. If you’re staying in a houseboat, enjoy some relaxing time on the deck watching the reflection of mountains in the lake.
Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 5: Departure – Memories for a Lifetime
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to this beautiful land. You’ll be dropped at Srinagar airport with your heart full of memories.
But don’t worry — Kashmir has a strange way of calling you back again. Once is never enough.
